Sushi has become so popular across the United States that new restaurants are opening up all of the time. From sushi spots gracing classy Strip locales like Wynn Las Vegas to those in more adventurous Sin City destinations, Las Vegas is fortunate enough to be home to some of the most iconic sushi restaurants in the country, which are sure to please the many tourists and locals alike.

Before you head over to one of these sushi restaurants, take a look at these sushi etiquette tips to look like a pro:

  • Never add your wasabi to soy sauce. Instead, use your chopsticks to add a little wasabi directly to the fish.
  • Dip Nigiri fish side down in the soy.
  • Ginger is used as a palette cleanser. Eat between courses!
  • When ordering sake, never serve yourself! Have your friend pour it for you.
  • If you offer to buy the chef a shot of sake, have one with him or her.

Mizumi at Wynn Las Vegas
For an elegant evening, head over to the Wynn and enjoy a four-star award-winning Japanese style restaurant. Make sure to call ahead or reserve online as they book fast. Ladies, the attire is dressy and elegant. Gentlemen, collared shirts or polos are required. This fine dining experience will surely satisfy your ocean-fresh sushi craving.

Soho
With a few locations off the strip, Soho has Strip-quality cuisine without the many tourists. Chef John spent years working hard and learning the art of sushi to eventually create what is now Soho Japanese Restaurant. He was also one of the first to pioneer the fun concept of the SOHO sushi burrito.

Umiya
Located one mile west of the strip, you will find an inexpensive all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant. We recommend making a reservation or getting there early, because seats fill up quickly. Service is great and the food arrives fresh from the bar.

Sapporo
This place is neat and involves revolving sushi. Do not worry about coming to dinner hungry, because food is served immediately with the convenience of a conveyer belt. Currently they do not offer an all-you-can-eat option, but prices are reasonable and you will be charged per plate. On Monday-Thursday and Sunday, they host Happy Hour from 10pm to closing, and Friday and Sunday from 11pm to closing.

Sushi-Ko
You won’t be breaking the bank with this sushi restaurant. If you are located in North Las Vegas, make your way to the Craig shopping center for great quality sushi and inexpensive prices. Their sushi rolls are very unique, and service is quite fast. If you’re feeling adventurous, the hibachi grill makes for a fun evening.
